His wife, Melissa Shouldice told Colorado Homes & Lifestyles that she has a degree in psychology but is also interested in design. The two tied the knot in Newport Beach, California. They had their first child together, a daughter, in November 2019.

Zdeno Chara is a Slovak hockey player who plays as a defenceman for the Washington Capitals. He met Tatiana, an economics engineer, in Ottawa in 1997. They were together for ten years before tying the knot in 2007. They had twin boys named Ben and Zack in 2016.
