Standard airplanes really don’t cut it anymore. Commercial versions might never show such styles and colors, but owners of personal planes want to do something different and imaginative.
Sometimes, the aircraft is so innovative that others are shocked, and we were definitely impressed. You can find many options, such as jumbo and private jets. If the owner can imagine it, someone can craft it. This will surely be exciting!
Flying Sea Turtles
All Nippon Airways (ANA) wanted three A380s that were unique. It was photographed as it left the Germany Airbus Paintshop in Hamburg. Clearly, you can see Hawaiian sea turtles. We love the way it looks!
Oh Canada
You can see the Royal Canadian CF-18 Demo Jet below. Made for the Air Force, it features a beautiful maple leaf and was painted to have the hallmark red shade that showcases Canada. This plane got revealed during the RCAF Anniversary Air Show in 2017 (150th anniversary).
No Cares
Nokair had one of its Boeing 737-800s painted to look like a duck. This is a crazy and fun paint job, but the airline is already famous for the innovative options it uses. In fact, many of its planes have a wildlife theme, but this is one of the coolest!
The Roost
This is a single-propeller aircraft that holds two passengers. It was made to look like a rooster and then painted in that likeness. Most people say it’s amazing, and there’s plenty of attention to detail here. You can even see the pilot wearing old-school flying gear!
Rainbow Jet
You can see the Dream Chaser 5, which is a private jet. This Lear Jet was actually donated by International Jet Aviation, an aircraft and management charter. It’s primarily used to fly sick kids to get wishes worldwide, so it has a special place in the hearts of many.
NATO Tiger Meet
During the NATO Tiger Meet of 2003, the world was introduced to this airplane. It’s a Mirage 2000RDI, and you can see the tiger’s eye glinting in the sunlight. While it broke down and didn’t fly its mission, it’s a sight to behold for sure!
Second NATO Tiger Meet
Below, you see the fighter jet called the Dassault Rafale M, which is from France. It features a tiger-like appearance, but this is more arctic-themed. It’s definitely intimidating, and we enjoy the black-and-white background that makes the eyes pop even more.
Finding Nemo
You should understand what the plane is about if you’ve watched Finding Nemo. Pink Aviation owns it, which is found in the Czech Republic. Overall, the Short SC-7 Skyvan 3-100 looks odd, but you really only focus on Nemo finding his buddies.
A-10 Warthog Christmas
Though Warthogs are often battle-gray, the Fairchild Republic A-10 chose to be different. This is a personalized Warthog that turns many heads. Overall, you can see reindeer, Christmas wreaths, and the red/green combination that’s often associated with this holiday.
Angry A-10 Warthog
Many people like the A-10, but this one features a twist. You see the olive-green color that most fighter jets have, but the nose got a paint job. These airplanes look like they want to take a bite out of the enemy and seem fearsome beyond belief!
Gulfstream Sexy Jet
SexyJet is owned by Clay Lacy Aviation, and it has a chameleon-like pattern. This custom aircraft features a full-sized galley for beverages and food, fold-out working tables, a private bathroom, and even power outlets for equipment. It’s truly one-of-a-kind!
Alien Tiger Hind
During the 2016 NATO Tiger Meet, you may have noticed this airplane. People called it the “Tiger Hind,” and it even won the best-looking award. Though it’s a helicopter, it’s still one of the best paint jobs we’ve seen today!
Sukhoi Su-57
This Russian fighter jet features a Digi-camo paint job, and it’s one of the sleekest we’ve seen so far. You may know that the US Air Force has something similar on its USAF F-16. Still, this one is beautiful and excellent in all aspects.
Duracell-Powered
We believe this is the C-130 Hercules airplane, but you only care about the attention to detail that was used to make it appear like a Duracell battery. It’s not as intricate as some of the other aircraft, but it’s still strange, making you stop for a moment.
Royal Netherlands F-16 Fighter Jet
The Air Force in the Royal Netherlands has an amazing aerobatics display team with colorful planes. The Demo Team used this one, though it’s no longer in service. Overall, the orange tones are impressive, and the flyer must be the top in the class!
Mi-24V Hind (Hungarian Air Force)
The Hungarian Air Force often uses the Mi-24V because it’s a large attack/artillery helicopter. However, they wanted it to appear intimidating. Once you get over the shock of that eagle, it’s very appealing and fun.
Star Wars
All Nippon Airlines is definitely one of the most interesting. You can view the beautiful paint job it features on its commercial aircraft. In fact, there are three with a Star Wars theme, so you may consider booking a flight on it if you’re a fan.
Southwest in Colorado
Southwest Airlines goes through Denver quite often, so it chose to create a plane that’s designed specifically for this trip. You see that it represents the Colorado state flag, and it could be the cleanest and crispest aircraft we’ve seen so far!
Just Do It
Gulfstreams are expensive private jets, and they’re costly to buy and operate. The owner of this G550 wanted to give it a paint job that matched the expense. You can see the light shade from the nose changing to dark, but the iconic Nike symbol seals the deal.
Disneyland and Alaska
Many people don’t think about Alaska when they imagine going to Disneyland. However, Alaska Airlines partnered with this destination spot to commission its airplane. Take a look at Tinkerbell and get excited to head to the park for fun.
Sled Dogs and Grizzly Bears
Everyone knows this plane loves Alaska. The paint job is forward-thinking because of the bears and sled dogs. Plus, it’s fun to see commercial airliners do things that are interesting and unique. This one takes the cake!
Business End
The Warthog is a very intimidating aircraft option out there. In fact, it’s about the size of a small car and is bad news for all the enemies in its way. This one has a snarl painted on it, making it appear to chomp the bad guys up and get rid of them easily.
Lovely Teeth
We don’t know what happened here, but the plane is a Skyvan 3-100 Short. Clearly, you can see the oversized lips, weird teeth, and overall funky color scheme. Someone enjoyed painting it, and the owner probably loves to fly it, so there’s no problem.
The British Are Coming
Below, you see a British Aerospace Hawk T-1A, and it’s used by the UK Royal Air Force. It definitely felt patriotic. This single-engine jet trainer was created in Britain and was flown initially in 1974. Now, it’s the top training aircraft.
Wings on Wings
This bald eagle that was painted onto the F-15E fighter jet is amazing. The Oregon National Guard uses this aircraft because it has a perfect record in combat and is superior to others. Overall, the very first one took off in 1972, and it’s still part of the fleet today.
Butterfly Effect
The beautiful aircraft below was painted to look just like a butterfly. In fact, it was made for a private company in Arizona. The gradients of red, orange, and yellow nicely contrast with the blue wing angles. It’s just magnificent to see!
Fastest Soda
Did you know the Concorde travels at Mach 2? This Pepsi aircraft was custom-painted, so it can’t travel that fast. Concorde planes must be white, so this one had to top out at 1.7 Mach. Still, that’s pretty fast. Do you think they served Pepsi-Cola during the trip?!
Toy Story
Many people love Buzz Lightyear, and they’re sure to appreciate this airplane, which features a 30-foot mural of him. China Eastern Airlines ended up partnering with Pixar to give a plane a makeover, and it looks amazing! Passengers get themed boarding passes, as well!
R2D2
While you might love Star Wars, you don’t rush out to buy a plane and paint a scene from the movie. All Nippon Airways did, though! The airline launched its Star-Wars-themed airplane once it signed a Disney licensing agreement.
Paint Splatters
The M2 Charter Jet is shown below, and it’s often considered to be a private jet. However, the painter didn’t know what they wanted and added colorful splotches here and there. Does the owner have a child-like heart?!
Eye of the Tiger
Rossi Airlines has a collaboration with Amur Tiger and created this plane. The Boeing 737 has a gorgeous tiger on the nose. It likely required about 500 kilos of paint for the project, which tells you how large it is. Plus, the painters did it free-hand!
Let It Go
Frozen is a very popular children’s movie, and one person also loved it enough to create this masterpiece. It took roughly 23 different colors and 170 gallons of paint for this work of art. In fact, it was a stunt for Canadian WestJet Airlines, and it’s amazing.
Shark Tank
This airplane has a crazy shark face that might make you rethink your trip. We think it might have done better on a ship or submarine, but you can’t ignore the attention to detail. It’s the only flying shark in the world and gets plenty of action as an A-10 Warthog.
Blue Digi-Camo
The first photo depicts the Russian SU-57 from the side. However, the second one is the US Air Force F-16. They look nearly identical, but plane enthusiasts can tell them apart. They’re truly remarkable.
Roses Are Red
A jet should be savvy, private, and painted well, and this one has it all. You can see the baby-blue background with flowers and crows around it. In fact, you couldn’t find a better paint job than this one; it’s just beautiful and breathtaking.
Whale of a Plane
It’s uncanny how this airplane looks just like the Beluga whale, except for the wings. The painter brought out the many similarities between the machine and the mammal. Plus, it’s actually the largest commercial aircraft in the world.
Northern Lights
Icelandair used this plane’s makeover for the “stopover” campaign. The beautiful colors show the Northern Lights. Plus, this natural phenomenon makes Iceland famous, so everyone has likely heard of it.
Black Mamba Plane
The F-16 demo team has a schedule where you can see these planes, and you should get tickets whenever you can. Such fighter jets are very maneuverable, and this black mamba viper has an amazing paint job. It’s chic and attractive!
Jaws Shark
The vintage military airplane below looks just like the Jaws shark you were probably scared of as a child. Though there are many jokes about the film, the painter did an amazing job here. They should be proud of their depiction!
The Dragon
This fighter jet belongs to the Italian Air Force and is part of the aerobatics team there. You can see the dragon paint job is a great marketing ploy to get others in the door. Then, pilots impress the crowd with their excellent flying skills!
