How To Fix Broken Powders
A lot of makeup comes in powder form, be it eye shadows, blushes, or foundations. It’s absolutely devastating when these fall and break, but don’t worry, you can easily fix them with this one product you most likely already have on hand!
What You’ll Need
-Rubbing alcohol – the higher the concentration the better
-Plastic wrap
-Broken makeup
Step One
Gather as much of the broken makeup you possibly can and put it all back in its original container. Now you’ll have to trust us on this next part: crush everything up, yes, even the parts that didn’t completely break.
Step Two
Mix several drops of rubbing alcohol into the compact and allow it to soak in.
Step Three
Wrap a piece of plastic wrap onto your finger, and then smooth out the mixture inside the compact. Alternatively, you can place the plastic wrap on the compact directly and smooth down the mixture over with your finger. If you find that the mixture is dry and isn’t smoothing together easily, add some more rubbing alcohol and repeat the process.
Step Four
After you’ve finished smoothing everything over, let it dry overnight. Don’t worry, the alcohol smell with evaporate and your makeup will return to its former glory! After this process, you’ll never know that it had ever been broken.
How To Fix Broken Lipstick
Nothing is more devastating than wanting to finish off your look with the perfect bold lip only to find that your lipstick has broken into two. Here’s how to easily fix your favorite tube.
What You’ll Need
-broken lipstick
-two small plastic bags
-lighter
-plastic gloves
-paper towels
Step One
Place the two pieces of lipstick in the separate bags and place them both in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Make sure the bags are completely separate and are not touching.
Step Two
Prepare your work space by placing paper towels down on a surface. Make sure you cover up enough space to work. This is done to make sure the lipstick doesn’t come into contact with the surface, risking infection.
Step Three
Remove the bags from the freezer. Hold the base (the part with the twisty!) and using the lighter, gently heat the edges of whatever is left of the lipstick to soften it.
Step Four
Place the broken piece on top of the base and fuse the two pieces together. Use the lighter to fuse them together using heat. Press the pieces together until they hold together. You can smooth out the excess using your finger or a toothpick.
Step Five
Place the tube back into the freezer for 10 minutes. Once you remove the lipstick from the freezer, you can go back to using it before it was broken!
