Clay Napkin Rings
This lovely tutorial from The Merry Thought is a great way to make your own napkin rings out of clay that you can use over and over again. All you need to do is get oven bake clay and roll it out into skinny logs. Then take two of those skinny logs and twist them together. Form the twisted logs into a ring, and then take a small piece of flattened clay and use it as a band to secure the two ends of the logs together. Place the rings onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake according to the clay’s packaging instructions. Once cooled, you can enjoy your new clay napkin rings at Thanksgiving and the rest of the year.
Pie Topper
Here’s another simple one that uses a small detail to elevate the Thanksgiving dinner experience. You can make your own pie topper (also goes great on cakes and other desserts!) with a few simple supplies. Take a skewer and stick on cardstock with whatever you want to be written on it. Now comes the fun part, decorating! Add on pom poms, glittery pipe cleaners, wooden beads, or anything else you want to add a special touch to your dessert.
Pumpkin Place Cards
This one is as simple as getting enough mini pumpkins for each of your guests and having nice handwriting. If you think you can pull it off, you can either write your guests’ names directly on the pumpkin itself, or you can attach little name tags with a piece of string on the stems of the pumpkins instead. This is an adorable little touch, and you can give the pumpkins to your guests to take home at the end of the night.
Kraft Paper Table Runner
Kraft paper can easily be turned into a lovely and chic table runner with minimal effort. As long as you dress up the table with stylish decor, all you need to do is write a simple and elegant message on the runner to complete the look. If you don’t trust your own penmanship, then you can also use a stencil to help you out.
Customized Banner
This one is truly as simple as cutting out triangles (or buying them pre-made, which is also quite affordable), sticking on letter stickers, punching holes into the triangles, and stringing everything together into your very own banner. This is a great way to create a customized banner, especially if you can’t find a pre-made one that you like. This way you can customize the colors, typography, and message.
