This Bride Took Her Bachelorette Party Too Far

Bachelorette and bachelor parties are an American tradition. It is seen as one last big party before you get married. For most people, the reality is much more mundane and only amounts to having a few friends over and maybe some drinks. That was not going to do it for this bride, though. She wanted to have one crazy last night, and she got it until it all went too far.

Being Young and In Love Is Not Easy

When you are young, and in love, there are so many things that can cause tension in your relationship. Many of these are simply born from the insecurity of youth and a lack of available resources, so they tend to get better with time. For Emma and Pablo, however, their tensions are not caused by external factors, but Emma’s own actions on the night of her bachelorette party. Nothing she can do can undo the damage that night caused to her relationship.

Emma and Pablo 

Every Bachelorette party needs a bride to be. In this case, the bride to be is Emma Alicia Paz from Mexico. She is engaged to Pablo Torres Gandara. Even well before the wedding, this relationship was off to a rough start. At one point, there was even an incident involving a video of Emma. The couple was determined to make it work, though, and pressed on.

Love at First Sight

When Pablo and Emma met, they were immediately smitten. They dated for two years before Pablo proposed to Emma. Emma said yes without hesitation, and the couple began planning their wedding. The first thing to do was pick a date. They chose April 7, 2017. At this point, they had less than a year to plan the perfect wedding. They were committed to pulling it off, though. Waiting any longer simply wasn’t an option for Pablo and Emma.

For Some, It Seems So Easy

We all know that one couple who has been together forever and never seems to have any problems. They can barely even remember when they were not together or when their last fight was. Emma and Pablo are not that couple. Sure, they love each other and get along great, but their relationship takes work, as most do. Despite this, these two were in love, and they were very happy together.

The Perfect Wedding

Emma has been planning her perfect wedding since she was a little girl. She knows she must have a gown that is the envy of everyone there, and the cake must be three-tiered. She had planned out every detail. The best part for Emma, though, was Pablo. The two were happy, and she was excited to spend her life with him. With everything planned, there was one thing left for her to do. She hadn’t had her bachelorette party yet.

Planning A Wedding Is Hard Work

Anyone who has ever planned a wedding can attest that the entire process is a test of will. There are so many people to call, so many locations to scout, and so many decisions to make. Where should you have the wedding? What kind of cake? What sings should you play? The list goes on, but Emma wasn’t worried about any of that. She was just happy to be with her beloved Pablo.

Luckily, She Didn’t Have to Plan the Bachelorette Party

Thankfully for Emma, she has some great girlfriends who helped plan her perfect bachelorette party. They spared no expense and made sure that Emma would have a night she would never forget. Their destination was the party resort in Mexico, Playa del Carmen. Over the next few nights, Emma’s life would change forever.

One Last Huzzah!

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are a longstanding tradition. They are supposed to be the married couple’s last night of ‘freedom’ before getting married. If getting married is giving up your freedom, then it may not be your time. Most people seem to agree, too, since most parties are pretty tame in reality. Emma was determined not to let her bachelorette party be anything close to boring, though.

The Bachelorette Party

Emma has some great friends. They planned her an awesome party at a popular party resort in Mexico called Playa del Carmen. The party was set to last all weekend, and Emma had no idea. No one knew just how far past the line Emma would take it. Right now, the party looks like it should be a fun weekend with some friends at a nice resort.

Her Party Would Be Anything but Boring

While it is true that most bachelorette and bachelor parties are pretty tame, Emma’s friends were having none of that. They were determined that Emma’s bachelorette party would be amazing. They certainly accomplished what they set out to do, but they also let things go too far. If they knew what Emma would do that night, they would have stayed home instead.

Getting Ready for the Party

Emma was a little unsure about leaving Pablo for a few days, but she was certain that her girlfriends had planned an amazing bachelorette party. They certainly had, and what they had planned for Emma was an amazing party at a great resort, but then things went wrong. Right now, though, Emma is just excited for a weekend with her best friends, even though it means a weekend away from Pablo.

They Need This Party

The girls have been friends for years. Most of them met in middle school and have stayed friends since, but they have begun to drift apart over the years. That is just what happens as we get older and move on with our lives. This would be the first time they were all together for a long time.

Time at The Beach 

Any good party resort must be at the beach, and Playa del Carmen is certainly no exception. The beaches here are some of the most beautiful in North America. The resort also offers bars, clubs, and other amenities. They are definitely not going to be lacking entertainment. After arriving, the girls wasted no time popping open a bottle of champagne to celebrate Emma’s big day. Emma has not even seen the best of her friends’ surprises, though.

We Can’t Stress How Amazing These Beaches Are Enough

Seriously, we cannot stress enough just how gorgeous these beaches are. If you are looking for a relatively cheap vacation on a stunning beach, Mexican resorts are a great option. They are typically cheaper than US resorts and come with amenities not offered in the US. One common amenity is endless alcohol. Many resorts offer domestic alcohol included in the cost of your room. Imports still cost more due to the taxes placed on them.

Beaches Are not The Only Perk

Playa del Carmen is far from just a beach. The world-class resort offers several other amenities that make it even better. One of the biggest perks of the resort is its top-notch dining experiences. There are several restaurants to choose from at the resort, and they offer cuisine for just about every taste. The biggest problem with dining at Playa del Carmen is trying to decide where to eat.

They Take Their Themes Seriously

Theme restaurants are not uncommon, especially at resorts, but it is rare to see them done well. Playa del Carmen manages to have both good food and a well-made theme. They have several different options, including a tropical theme. The roof appears to be palm leaf thatch, but we are sure it is not. What really caught out interest is that the chair bases are carved out of tree trunks.

They Play Up the Tropical

Playa del Carmen is a tropical resort in Mexico. Their main goal is to attract international tourists who are looking for a similar experience to the Caribbean. As such, they have themed much of the resort after a tropical island. The restaurants are no exception. Many of the eateries and bars around the resort share this theme, but it is well done and well maintained.

Cave Dining Experience

One of our favorite themes that we saw at Playa del Carmen is the cave dining experience. The restaurant is well made and really makes you feel like you are eating inside of a cave, minus the cold and dark, of course. This is just one of the many eating options that they offer to guests year-round. The girls wouldn’t get the chance to enjoy these great eateries, though. Emma takes things way too far, and the entire weekend is ruined.

It is The Perfect Experience

Playa del Carmen has put a lot of effort into making sure that you have everything that you could possibly want while staying at t her resort. They even include an upscale steakhouse for those who want a high-class American style meal. Unfortunately for the girls, the entire night falls apart before they can even try one of these offerings. The things Emma did that night will haunt her forever.

It Was the Perfect Party

Emma’s girlfriends went all in to make her party amazing. Not only did they book a weekend at an awesome resort, but they also called ahead and made reservations to use VIP areas. This also included the use of a private lounge and waiter service for the entire day. It was a perfect party and everything that Emma could have asked for. The party was going great.

The Night Started Off Well Enough

When the girls arrived, they immediately started the party, opening bottles of wine to celebrate. Their fun was all good-natured and innocent. Intoxicated, sure, but innocent enough. Within hours that would all take a turn for the worst, and Emma’s life would change forever.

Things Started to Change

As the girls got more and more drunk, their judgment began to lapse. This was a party resort, though, so they were determined to have an amazing time. They had been drinking for an entire day, so there was already going to be consequences.

Just a Night of Fun

The girls enjoyed the night of the party, popping open more and more bottles of wine. They were celebrating one of their best friends getting married after all, so why shouldn’t they have a little bit of fun? Plus, they haven’t even seen each other as a group in years, so the party was the perfect time to reunite. Little did they know just how wrong this party was about to go.

Things Start to Change

It is easy to identify a bachelorette or bachelor party at a resort. The attire and props often make it almost too easy. The girls were enjoying their night and hanging out in the VIP area. As the night went on, people began to notice them. There was one group that they noticed in return. As the night went on, one group of boys caught their attention. Eventually, the girls invited them to the VIP area.

The Club is Cursed 

The resort where the girls were staying seems to have its own little curse. Emma is far from the first person to make mistakes at the resort only to have the video be released online. One such high-profile case was Hilary Castro, who was caught on camera kissing a man who was most definitely not her husband, professional baseball player Luis Porchas. Needless to say, the video led to some chaos in their relationship.

Needless to Say, This Didn’t Go Over Well

From what we can gather, the incident with Hilary Castro did not go over well. Luis Porchas was not as forgiving as we hope Pablo is. Surely, he can forgive Emma for what happens.

Does Kissing Even Count? 

This is a question that is often debated. For our part, we certainly think that kissing counts as cheating. Even if it doesn’t mean anything, you should never betray your partner’s trust. We have to hope for Emma and Pablo that Pablo is the forgiving type.

It’s Not Actually Cursed

Let’s be honest, the resort isn’t cursed. It is a place where drunk people party, so some things are bound to happen eventually. This is especially true in a word with cell phones. Anyone can be recording anything that you do, and Emma’s situation just goes to prove that. Be careful what you do, people are always watching.

Cheating on Your Partner is Bad MmmK’? 

We shouldn’t need to say this, but cheating on your partner in any form is bad. What exactly constitutes cheating can vary between people, but we think we can all agree that Emma crossed the line here. How could she do something like this to poor Pablo?

The Resort Offers Amenities for Everyone

Playa del Carmen is far from only a party resort. It offers amenities for everyone. There are multiple pools, some with tiki bars in the pool. There are also several hot tubs and other features. The resort has some of the best food in the area and of course some of the best bars. We still wouldn’t recommend taking the family on spring break, though.

Sadly, it Couldn’t Last

It was set to be the perfect weekend. All of her friends were together, they were going to an amazing resort, and the girls should have had the time of their lives. Little did they know just how much shame and regret would come from this one trip and how much it was going to hurt Pablo and Emma.

Mistakes Were Made on All Sides

As you can probably guess, when putting a group of guys together with a group of partying girls, something is going to happen eventually. This is compounded when both parties have been drinking the entire day, so you can only imagine where this is heading. At this point, Emma figured that she is still single, so she might as well have some fun.

OK, What Just Happened?

Why Emma? Why would you do this to Pablo? How are you going to tell him what happened? We wish we could tell you that this was as bad as it got, but there is more to this story.

She Stopped Before it Got Worse, Right?

We wish we could tell you that Emma immediately saw the error of her ways and rushed to call Pablo to apologize, but this isn’t the case. Emma keeps going back to the guy throughout the day and night. Thankfully it doesn’t seem like things ever went any farther between the two. Her friends prove to be no help either as they are both just as drunk as she is.

Being Drunk Isn’t an Excuse

People try to use being drunk as an excuse for their actions far too often. Yes, it is ok to relax and have a few drinks, but remember, you are still responsible for yourself. If you make a mistake, it is still your mistake, whether you have been drinking or not. That is certainly the case for Emma, and she knows it. Once she recovers from the effects of the alcohol, she is sure to freak out. She also knows that there is no one for her to blame but herself for what she did.

What Has She Done?

She must be filled with regret at this point, right? After all, what about poor Pablo? He would be heartbroken. Apparently, that hasn’t registered yet for Emma. At this point, we can only assume that she keeps telling herself, ‘I’m still single,’ to justify kissing this guy. They continued flirting and kissing throughout the night. Her girlfriends are all too busy on their own to look after Emma, so the mistakes continue. Unfortunately, the party has been going on all day and does not show any signs of slowing down, so Emma still has plenty of time to make more mistakes.

It Was a Rough Morning 

The night of her bachelorette party, Emma was, to be fair, very drunk. She had convinced herself that she wasn’t doing anything wrong, although most people would disagree. It seems her sober self certainly disagrees since when she woke up, she was immediately racked with guilt. What was her poor Pablo going to say when he found out? She was, understandably, pretty upset about the whole situation.

Surely, She Must Know What Happened, Right?

For the rest of the night, Emma and the random guy would run into each other and start kissing again. She did not seem even to consider what this would do to poor Pablo. Thus, is the nature of alcohol, though, and once its effects wore off, she was in a panic. She could not believe what she had let herself do.

Emma Was in a Panic

Emma couldn’t believe what she had let herself do. She couldn’t blame her friends; they had been in the same condition as her. She started to worry about what Pablo would think. Would he leave her, or would he understand? It was just her bachelorette party; it meant nothing, surely, he can understand that, right? She wasn’t so sure. After all, it would be easy to hide. Only she and her friends knew.

The Horrible Aftermath

For Emma, the aftermath of her party was only just beginning. Little did she know that the events of the night had gotten caught on camera. When she learned this, she was worried. What would happen if Pablo found out from someone else? She decided that she had to be at least the one to tell Pablo the truth. That would be better than him finding out on his own, at least.

It Spread So Fast

When Emma found out about the video, she was shocked at just how fast it had spread. The video went viral under the hashtag #LadyCoralina, after the resort. She knew she didn’t have much time to tell Pablo, and she did not know which of her friends uploaded the video or if it was someone else at the resort. She didn’t want to suspect her friends, but they are the only ones that make sense.

He Can’t Find Out Like That

As the video spread, it quickly became undeniable that Pablo would learn of Emma’s mistakes that night. She knew she had to act fast if she was going to try to cushion the blow by telling him herself. There was no telling when a relative or friend might see the video. She braced herself for the worst, and Pablo, as you might expect, did not take the news well.

Is There a Good Way to Find Out?

Infidelity is one of those things that hurts everyone. It is hard to learn that the person that you love was not faithful to you. The worst cases, though, are the ones where the affair meant something to your partner. In any case, though, there is no good way to find out that you have been cheated on.

Pablo Had Mixed Emotions

Pablo had mixed emotions, all of them bad. He felt betrayed, sad, and humiliated that Emma would do this to him. Not only that, but it is only a few weeks before they were supposed to get married. Could he forgive her for this, or was their relationship over? Pablo had a difficult decision to make.

Social Media Firestorm

Not only did Emma have to face Pablo, but she also had to face the firestorm of comments on social media. Very few people were defending her while most were criticizing her for doing something so terrible to the person she loves. After all, weren’t they about to get married? Even drunk, she should not have made such a mistake. Eventually, Emma quit social media to get away from the hate that she was getting. The only person’s judgment that she cared about was Pablo’s.

Social Media Relents

Emma’s family was much more forgiving to her than the internet and quickly acted to get social media platforms to remove the video. They argued that the comments were causing phycological trauma to Emma and that they wanted to protect her. They knew that by trying to shield Emma from the wrath of the internet, they risked getting caught up in it themselves, but they did it for Emma.

Bullying is Never OK 

While most of the comments were supportive of Pablo and chastised Emma for her lack of judgment, some went so far as to attack Emma herself. We all make mistakes and it is OK to acknowledge that, but when it comes to the point of calling people names and harassing them, it is time to back off. We can’t really blame Emma for leaving social media after the comments she got.

The Wedding is Cancelled

Emma eventually decided to call off the wedding herself. She does not want to hurt Pablo anymore, but she knows she cannot walk down the aisle and get married to him after what happened. She can’t face the humiliation and judgment from his family and from the internet itself. She knew that there was no way for her to undo what happened at the resort. Unfortunately for Emma, the worst was yet to come.

Could There Be Hope?

When Emma canceled the wedding, Pablo was not sure how to feel. He was certainly still hurt by what Emma had done, but he wasn’t sure that he wanted to call off the wedding. At this point, it does not appear to be up to him, but there is one crucial step that must occur if the wedding is to be put back on track. Before anyone can move on, Pablo must be willing to forgive Emma.

The Wedding is Back On

Eventually, Pablo saw that Emma was truly regretful for her actions on that night. He decided to forgive her and move on. After all, they still love each other and want to be happy together. Their original wedding date has already come and gone at this point, so they must start their planning over. It is the perfect way of symbolically restarting their relationship too.

They Want to Make it Work

Maybe we are wrong, but we want their relationship to work. Clearly, these two are in love and are willing to work for their relationship. Infidelity is one thing that is often seen as unforgivable, and in most cases, it is, but Pablo recognizes that this was just a simple mistake. If he is willing to forgive Emma, then shouldn’t the rest of us?

What Is Happening Now?

You may be asking yourself at this point, what happens now? Did they get married? Are they still together? The truth is, we don’t know. After announcing their second engagement, the couple largely left social media. This is undoubtedly the result of Emma’s moment of shame on the various platforms. We can’t really blame her for leaving the sites that caused her so much harm.

The Couple is Making it Work

While not an official confirmation, an anonymous user posted this photo online last year after recognizing #LadyCoralina. We are certain that Emma would rather forget that name even exists, but it is nice to see that they are still together and trying to make it work. Who knows when the next sighting of Pablo and Emma will occur?

Could There Still Be Problems in Paradise? 

Eagle-eyed observers may have noticed something about that last picture that seems a little odd. Emma is not wearing her ring. It is possible that she just decided not to wear it to the ballgame. After all, it would be tragic to lose her ring at the stadium. We can’t help but think it may also be because the couple never got married after the incident. We are not certain if they are still together romantically or not.

She Did Get a Pretty Harsh Sentence

Yes, we can all agree that Emma messed up when she cheated on Pablo but is it really up to the internet to judge people for what they do in their personal lives? Sure, there are plenty of times when outrage online is justified, but don’t people have better things to do then harass a girl who made a drunken mistake at a party? While we certainly can’t speak for Pablo, we also don’t think Emma deserved the level of backlash that she got.

Technology Has Changed the World

We should also consider that people in the past were not paragons. They just didn’t have the easy access to cameras and video sharing that we have today. If this incident had happened before cell phones and social media, there is almost no chance that Pablo would ever find out unless Emma or one of her friends told him. This certainly doesn’t justify her action, but it is worth keeping in mind before you judge her too harshly.

Some Level of Success 

It is hard to find the bright side of infidelity, but it looks like there may just be one for Emma and Pablo. While everyone is sure to interpret this differently, we think that internet success is assured once someone cosplays as you. Some people may be put off by the costume, though. After all, it is a reminder of the heartbreak Pablo suffered and the regret Emma faced. We think it could be kind of flattering, depending on how you look at it. After all, imitation is the greatest form of flattery isn’t it?

Be Careful Who You Judge

Remember, thanks to the internet and access to cell phones, anything that you do can be caught on camera and uploaded. Anyone could easily find themselves in the same situation as Emma, where one small mistake escalates because it is made public online. Don’t judge people when you do not know their side of the story and remember that the same thing could easily happen to you. Today’s world is more interconnected than ever before and a video of you doing something stupid can spread before you even get back to your hotel room.

Mob Justice is Never the Answer

It is easy to see ourselves as right and other people as wrong without ever, even considering their circumstances. Was Emma in the wrong? Yes, no one, not even Emma, is denying that, but it is not for the rest of us to judge her. What happened is between her and Pablo and no one else. You wouldn’t want someone interfering with your relationship that you are trying to mend, would you? Each attack on Emma only makes it harder for her and people like her to admit to their mistakes and work on repairing their relationships.
